The End of the Fun in LA

Here is the final installment of our adventures in Los Angeles...

Saturday morning, the boys and their moms loaded up into the car and headed to the Griffith Observatory so that we could see a view of all of Los Angeles.  Unfortunately, when we got there, it was very foggy so our view was a little covered up.

We then went inside the beautiful observatory building and schooled the boys on the planets and such.

After exploring the inside of the observatory, we went outside and let the boys stretch their legs some before we strapped them back into their car seats.

Next, we headed to Beverly Hills.  We were in search of Sprinkles, the cupcake shop.  We were so excited to find it and get some yummy goodness.

Jack is not enjoying a cupcake...he's eating a crunchy...begrudgingly

Bottom Row: Banana w/ Dark Chocolate Frosting, Coconut, German Chocolate

All I can say about that experience is....OH. MY. GOD!  Those cupcakes were beyond amazing!

That night, the boys had another bath.  It's funny to see how different the two boys are; Jack is "Mr. Safety" and Miles is "Mr. Adventure".  Jack sits down and splashes and plays with toys, whereas Miles stands up and plays with the shampoo bottles.

Miles looks like he's saying, "Who?  Me?"

Our last day in California was nice and low key.  We went to the farmer's market in the morning and bought some yummy fruit, vegetable and meat.  Then we headed out to The Grove for a little bit more shopping and people watching.  Marisa and I cooked dinner and then we took a few more pictures before Jack and I headed to the airport for our journey home.

Jack fell asleep before we left for the airport and then slept the whole way to the airport and through security.  He woke up when we got to our gate so I wrapped him up in my Moby wrap and he went back to sleep and slept the entire way to Raleigh.  I was awake for nearly the whole redeye flight but I was happy that Jack slept.

Thank you Marisa, Mark and Miles for an amazing time in California.  You were truly the hostess with the mostest and we can't wait for our next adventure with you.  I hear the Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina calling our name in a couple years!  Until then, we'll see you in Virginia in December.

More Adventures in Los Angeles

After our adventures in The Valley, we headed home to let the boys cage fight wrestle play while we decided what we wanted to do for the rest of the day.

Marisa and I tried to put together her new Missoni for Target bike.  Umm, yeah...that didn't work out so well.  As it turns out, the two fork ends were not properly aligned and therefore made it impossible to put the bike together.  The saddest part is that there are no more bikes available and Marisa wasn't able to trade it for another...just a return and her money back.  Boo, Missoni for Target!

Miles and Jack bellied up to the bar

Definitely don't think I was born to have twins

After we recovered from the devastating news about the bike, we decided to talk a walk to the park.  By the time we got to the park, both boys were asleep.  We decided to wander around a little more and then when we passed the park again, Jack was awake.  We let Jack swing for a bit and then Miles woke up and decided to swing with Jack.  They were great swinging partners sharing friends.  After swinging, we tried out some of the other playground equipment.  The Morales family is so lucky to have such a great park so close to their house!

After we got home, the boys had a quick snuggle sessions before heading off to bed.

"Hey, Miles!  Whatcha doin?  Wanna share?"

"Ummm, back off Jack! This is my bottle!"

Playing in Los Angeles (cont'd)

After over 13 hours of travel, Jack and I finally made it to LA.  We were so happy to see Marisa and Miles and Jack was really excited to get a clean diaper.

When we got back to Casa Morales, we let Jack and Miles play for a bit.

After the boys stretched their legs for a bit, we all headed out for some dinner and a tour of the neighborhood.  While we were walking, I noticed a couple with twins that had the same stroller as me.  So I stopped to talk to them.  Apparently, this is unheard of in California.  We ended up chatting with this couple for a while.  I told them all of the cool features of their stroller and talked about kid stuff in general.  While we were talking to them, the people in the salon next door came out to admire Miles and Jack.  The locals, assumed that I wasn't from LA and asked where I was from.  When I told them I was from Raleigh, they wanted to know if everyone was as friendly as me in NC.

After I made friends with everyone in Brentwood, we headed off in search of dinner.  Then it was time for some sleep for the Mulleys who were exhausted from the day o' travel.

The next morning, Jack woke up bright and early so we played in our room for a couple hours so the Morales' could sleep until a normal hour.  Once Marisa and Miles were up we made a game plan for the day.  We went to the Third Street Promenade in downtown Santa Monica for lunch with Mark and a little shopping.  After we had lunch, we went shopping and found some shoes for Miles.

The next adventure of the day was to stalk Jeff Lewis or at least one of the places that he redesigned.  We were off to The Valley to check out Casa Vega.  Needless to say, we were not impressed with the foyer of the restaurant.  On the show, it took months years a really long time to remodel and it didn't seem all that impressive to us.  Anyway, we headed inside to grab a drink and take in the ambiance.  Marisa and I got the most delicious coconut margaritas and the boys acted crazy!

The waiter kindly offered to take a group picture...probably so we'd leave

Contrary to popular belief, Jack and Miles did not partake in the margaritas
