We had our doctor's appointment this afternoon. It was actually supposed to be tomorrow but they called me last week to switch it up. This time I had to have my yearly pap smear and check-up as well as an ultrasound to check on the Lime. Everything looked great! The doctor showed us the baby and (s)he was moving all around and even rolled over at one point to
moon us (looks like (s)he is a Roady afterall). We also got to hear the heartbeat for the first time today. It was amazing to hear that quick beating and realize that there really is someone growing inside of me. The heart rate was measured at 160 bpm. The doctor printed out two ultrasound pictures for us to take with us--but Dave and I were both disappointed that this doctor didn't attach the ultrasound pictures to decorative paper and then do hand drawings of the ultrasound pictures. So we just have two lonely ultrasound pictures to share this time.
Since we are out of the first trimester, we are at the point where we can start telling people about our good news. We are trying to think of some creative ways to tell people and will soon make this blog public so that our loved ones can follow us on this pretty awesome adventure. Stay tuned for the unveiling of our secret!
Our next appointment is June 29.
