Dave Went to Mexico and I Started Stripping

Did that get your attention?

Yes, I know, we have been on quite the blogging hiatus. There has been quite a bit going on and I'll try to do an update
of the past nine months...but not today. What's that? You can't wait? Well, here's a really quick recap:
Sam is an awesome baby. Jack is an awesome big brother. Dave and I are constantly amazed at their differences. Sam will be our "spirited" child but we wouldn't have it any other way! Sam had a rough start with solid foods and we finally figured out that he is allergic to flour. Not so awesome-we hope he outgrows it! I was diagnosed with postpartum depression-no biggie, I'm feeling much better and much more in control. We took our first family of four vacation and it was a total success. I've taken several road trips with just Jack and Sam and that makes me feel like Supermom!

So anyway, back to the point of this comeback post...Dave went to Mexico and I started stripping.

Dave left on Monday to go down to Mexico City for work and I decided this would be an excellent time to start stripping the wallpaper in the downstairs powder room. I have hated that wallpaper since we bought the house and I was going to strip it while I was pregnant with Jack, but then I was put on bed rest and that didn't sound very restful.

This stunning wallpaper has been known to make some of our bifocal wearing friends dizzy...

With Dave safely out of the way (and unable to stop me), I called my my stripper friends Trixxie and Bambiiii to help me get the job done. Trixxie is my old clothing steamer and Bambiiii is the handy scrapping tool. I just decided to give them good stripping names-I'm sure Rey are just trying to pay their way through medical school.

Jack and Sam were excellent apprentices this week. Jack would come in and tell me what a mess I was making and Sam would come in and attempt to eat the mess I was making. Oh so helpful!

I still have a bit more paper to strip, but I can't get the mirror down. Dave said he'd help me with that when he gets home. He also said he's scared to leave again for fear that I will tear out the shower in our master bathroom. He is justified in his worries. This isn't the first time I've surprised him when he's gone out of town. When we were dating, he went out of town for work, and I listed all of his furniture on Craigslist. Then when he had nothing to sit on, he just had to move in with me, marry me and give me two perfect little boys! Shwew! Glad that all worked out!

Dave was supposed to get back last night, but apparently there was a terrible storm and his flight was re-routed and one thing lead to another and he spent the night in Houston. He should be home in a few hours!

Big shout out to Megan (she may be our only reader), who told me she missed my blogging and motivated me to get going again.

I can now blog from my phone so maybe we can make this a more common occurrence.

Blog comments always encourage me to keep going (hint, hint)!
